What Can’t You Do?
I believe there isn’t anything you cannot do. Especially if you have passion, faith, energy and thick skin. It all starts with starting.

It’s not always going to be easy but what is that’s worth doing. Remember the clerk with a good head for numbers and the crazy hair? Well he birthed an equation that changed the world and changed his life in the process. Some people will say his idea has brought lots of pain and death but I believe this equation will bring far more positive outcomes than negative. Sometimes it takes awhile to get there.
Are you that clerk, sitting and dreaming about an idea? What are you waiting for? Put it to work, you don’t have to eat the whole cake in one sitting just start then figure it out as you go. Most successful people and company’s never start with a business plan or model they had the guts to start it and ignored the huge barriers to entry that exist in every endeavor. Flying happily by the seat of their pants through the “dip” as Seth Godin calls it.
People who really know me, know two things: sometimes I can get a little snarky (sorry I didn’t say I was perfect) and I truly believe in people and what they can do. I believe in the power of people to do anything they set their heart and minds too.
What can’t you do is really the question? And I say it’s absolutely nothing.
You can do anything you want. I’m not kidding look around you, I bet you can find lots of examples. Remember that goof in high school or college, he or she is now a brain surgeon. Yes, brain surgeon or a Juilliard trained bass player. See you can do anything!

I’m a serial entrepreneur and I’ve been working at my own ideas since I was a kid. Mowing lawns, shoveling driveways, thinking up all kinds of crazy and creative ideas and now as an adult I’m still shoveling and thinking, metaphorically speaking but following my path forward.
Why am I writing this? Because I heard Conan O’Brien on his last night as the Tonight Show host and I was impressed with his thoughtful and heart felt final words,
“And finally, I have to say something to our fans. The massive outpouring of support and passion from so many people has been overwhelming. The rallies, the signs, all the goofy, outrageous creativity on the internet, and the fact that people have traveled long distances and camped out all night in the pouring rain to be in our audience, made a sad situation joyous and inspirational.
“To all the people watching, I can never thank you enough for your kindness to me and I’ll think about it for the rest of my life. All I ask of you is one thing: please don’t be cynical. I hate cynicism- it’s my least favorite quality and it doesn’t lead anywhere.
“Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen. As proof, let’s make an amazing thing happen right now. Here to close out our show, are a few good friends, led by Mr. Will Ferrell…”
I believe in what Conan said particlarly in these times of job loss, housing problems, governments out of control, a general feeling of uncertainty, massive uncontrolled greed and a bit of hopelessness or maybe it’s better said as “less hope.” Rid yourself of the cynicism and open up to the possibilities.
I’ll end it here with short but sweet - NEVER GIVE UP BABY AND GET STARTED!
It’s out there for you and yes, you can do it. The “it” is up to you and “it” will lead you to creativity, incredible-remarkable accomplishments and amazing moments in your life that you share will family, friends and fellow professionals. You will look back on these moments with awe-inspiring amazement. Yes - AWE!
How will I do that, you ask?
You just do. Start then try adding in a pinch of kindness, humility and dash of giving you will be amazed by how people will react and follow. Here at YoStella we always end with a “Stella says” so here it is.
Stella says, if I gave up every time I hit a bump I would still be stuck way back somewhere along the road considering the next good idea. Keep going, be kind, creative, curious, giving and never - ever give up.
Great things can happen to those that wander and wonder.
